Visibility is infrastructure.

Under-reported founders attract under-sized investment. For more than a decade our newsroom has profiled Africa’s innovators — turning the everyday work of building into shared ecosystem memory.

What we run

An independent newsroom publishing daily on African innovation, funding, and policy — available in five languages.

A directory of more than 1,500 African startups and 1,600 investors, maintained as a public ecosystem resource.

Annual flagship lists — Ecosystem Insider, the AU-Startups Watchlist, Founders to Watch — that anchor year-round editorial attention.

Why it matters

Capital follows conviction, and conviction follows visibility. Persistent, credible reporting is the connective tissue of any healthy innovation economy — and it is thinly resourced in most African markets. We treat journalism as civic infrastructure, not content.

How to engage

Editorial tips and story pitches: press@au-startups.org.

Founder submissions: profile review is open year-round via our directory.

Funders and partners supporting independent journalism as a public good are welcome to partner on specific editorial programs.
